Different Periods in the History of the English Language

Roleplay

First, we made groups where each one had to represent through a roleplay one period of the English Language. The rest of the class had to figure out what was the period that presented.

Timeline

Using Tiki Toki, we created an innovative and creative timeline with different main aspects of the period. This helpful tool gave us another way to learn the history of the English Language and how to manage this new technology.




Forum

Later, each student has to write a reflection about a period of the English Language that did not work in previous tasks, so I have to write a reflection about the Old English, based on the material provided in the Tiki Toki of our classmates. 
Through the different tasks, I learned about important events in the development of the English Language, like the Old Norse language, the strong influence of Shakespear, the printing press, among others facilitated that the English Language become what is nowadays.

Introduction to Linguistics is a course that gives us knowledge of what involves the study of languages. In this course, I learned different linguistic terms, what is language universals, the different fields that linguistics studies, the different periods of the English Languages, and the language acquisition and Development. In this class, I learned important information that helps me in the comprehension of the linguistics, I feel good in this course because we implement the use of technology in the learning of this course and I think that is a good way to catch the attention of us as students.
